The Gloaming – “Óró, Sé do Bheatha ‘Bhaile”
The Gloaming are Thomas Bartlett, Dennis Cahill, Martin Hayes, Iarla Ó Lionaird and Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh. They are a group of virtuoso musicians from Ireland and the U.S. The group got together in West Meath in early 2011. Since then they have been creating an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary musical styles.
Their sparse, authentic and powerful music is driven by their passionate performances. Their sound is as new as it is old and the five members seem to spur each other on with their talented compositions. You can hear the fire they make on “Óró, Sé do Bheatha ‘Bhaile” above. This talented group is expanding the traditional Irish sound. They will make their U.S. debut at globalFEST 2012. I’m sure they will be a hit.
