The Silk Road Ensemble is a collective of musicians, composers and performing artists that play music centered around the Silk Road Project. The group features members from more than 20 countries. Yo-Yo Ma got many of the musicians together at the Tanglewood Music Center in 2000. The ensemble shares traditions from various cultures and develops and performs new music and multimedia works.
